It does hurt your resale, and frankly that's why I got my Z for so little money. However, if you're planning so much time and effort into this car, I sincerely doubt that you should worry about the resale now. As I said before the title certainly effects the resale, but as the Z becomes rarer and rarer the price of finding one is climbing drastically. Go see the car, and have someone look at it, make sure they know where it's been hit. Sometimes you'll catch a car with the wrong rear end put on it, or the chasis rebuilt can be very weak. If you decide to go with the car with the rough title as long as you have it properly inspected (financially permitted) then go ahead with it. It certainly will nto make you feel differently about the car after you have finished the work. It's all worth it for a Z anyways. Good luck.
